A voice for the community

Belco Party wants to change the way things are done in Canberra.

Together we can

“FOR A FAIR GO

VOTE BELCO”

Authorised by Bill Stefaniak for Belco Party

The Belco Party began when a group of people from various backgrounds grew collectively frustrated at the way Canberra was being led. 20 years is too long for any government to be in power, and for the sake of basic democracy, the ACT needs to be represented by more than just “the big 3”. We understand that no one side of politics can get it right all of the time. This enables us to see practical solutions to real issues without the tyranny of ideology getting in the way. We would love to hear about the issues that are important to you and what you would like to see done differently in Canberra. Having good independents is the best way to keep the major parties in check. Let us be your voice.

The Belco Party is holding a seminar on housing affordability

WHEN: 7PM THURSDAY 9 MAY

WHERE: SOUTHERN CROSS CLUB, JAMISON - CATCHPOLE ROOM

One of the biggest issues of our time is the housing affordability crisis.

One of the biggest issues of our time is the housing affordability crisis. How will today’s young people ever be able to afford to partake in the great Australian dream of owning their own home. If they can’t, what other avenues are or should be available to help them with stable, affordable, good accommodation?

A panel of Canberrans with years of experience in this area will facilitate the discussion including long time experienced Real Estate agents Greg Sadil and Frank Walmsley, a representative from the building industry, and Alan Anforth former ACTCOSS President and property law expert.

MC - Bill Stefaniak

(Former ACT Housing Minister and ACAT Appeal President)

PLEASE COME ALONG AND HAVE YOUR SAY

No idea will be dismissed

WE WANT TO HEAR YOUR IDEAS

The Belco Party is hosting this seminar in the hope that some good ideas will emerge so whoever forms the next ACT Government can be guided and assisted in coming up with a few solutions to this huge ongoing problem.

Limited seating available so please be sure to book

Jason Taylor - Belco Party Candidate for Yerrabi

My name is Jason Taylor.

I grew up and studied in Melbourne. Upon completion of university in 2007 I moved to Canberra to undertake recruit training with the Australian Federal Police. I have been in Canberra ever since!

I spent nearly 14 years with the AFP, most of this time was spent with ACT Policing; reaching the rank of Detective Sergeant. I worked across a number of areas of ACT Policing including General Duties, Criminal Investigations, Family Violence and Legislation and Policy.

During my career with the AFP I developed a real sense of community pride and passion for helping people. Despite my career ending prematurely due to a violent workplace assault and subsequent PTSD diagnosis meaning I could no longer do the job I loved, I have never lost my drive to make my community a better and safer place. So I joined the Belco Party and decided to run as a candidate in the upcoming 2024 ACT election for the electorate of Yerrabi.

As well as policing and law and order matters I am also passionate about mental health issues, addressing the rates of Family Violence in meaningful ways, and addressing the perilous state of the ACT’s Health and Education systems. And of course, local issues “good old rates roads and rubbish”.

As a resident of Yerrabi for over 13 years I have seen firsthand the issues that impact upon residents of this electorate, the things that really matter. Unfortunately, Yerrabi has been the neglected electorate for far too long under this government, the state of our roads and the grass jungles our green spaces and verges have become is testament to that. Although given that we don’t have a Minister in Cabinet representing the good people of this electorate, I am not surprised. The people of Yerrabi deserve better. A Government that places ideology above the best interests of the community, is not a good Government. Canberrans are sensible people, and they deserve sensible people representing them in the Legislative Assembly. That is what I will bring to the Chamber if elected. In me, Yerrabi has a man who has spent his life protecting the community. Let me protect you and your family as a member of the Assembly and help “Keep the Bastards Honest!”.
